View the Matariki constellation on Friday 24 June from 6:15 am. We will have a Matariki star viewing at the top of Greengates chair on Broughs Lane. The event will be a celebration of the Matariki holiday and will include an interpretation by astronomy expert, Bryan Boyle, Chair of the Winterstellar Charitable Trust.

BOOKINGS CLOSE 6PM THURSDAY JUNE 23

 

Details:

There will be a Karakia and a discussion about the importance and context of Matariki to Māori culture. 

Croissants will be provided and early lift access via Greengates. If you have booked, please meet at the bottom of Greengates lift between 6-6:15am and park in Carpark 2.

Participants need to be able to ski down from the top of Greengates in the dawn timeframe with torches/headlamps.

This event is weather dependent, please check our Snow Report.

We also are celebrating Matariki and the start of the winter season with special First Tracks. Guests who have First Tracks already for the season are invited for an exclusive on June 24th starting at 8 am.
