Rookie Instructor Training - Domestic Programme

Kickstart your career in snowsports with the NZSki Rookie Instructor Training Programme - a 12-day intensive programme including onboarding, designed to transform skiers and riders passionate about being in the snow into skilled instructors. Delivered by some of the best in class NZSIA and SBINZ trainers and examiners, this course combines on-snow coaching with indoor technical sessions to ensure you’re prepared to deliver the best guest lesson experiences possible, with confidence. 

For those successful on completion of the programme, this becomes one of the only direct pathways to a seasonal position on the Queenstown Snowsports team based at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. 

What’s Included: 

• 12 days of intensive training: Including 2 days of 'work-ready' preparation. Gain top-level instruction at Coronet Peak or The Remarkables from world-class trainers.
• Times: 9am – 3:30pm daily
• 3 Peak Season Pass: Secure a 3 Peak Season Pass as part of the rookie programme if you enrol by 31 May 2025. In the event you are not invited onto the Snowsports School you may continue to access this 2025 3 Peak Season Pass.
• Interview Opportunity: Graduates are invited to an interview on day 10, with 'work-readiness' training on day 11 and 12. 

Additional Requirements:

• Applicants must confidently ski or ride all red and black terrain with skill and control.
• Applicants must be residents of New Zealand or Australia to qualify for the programme.
