Rookie Instructor Training - International Programme

Dreaming of a career in the snow? 

The NZSki International Rookie Instructor Training Programme is your gateway to becoming a snowsports instructor in world class Queenstown New Zealand. This intensive 12-day programme prepares confident skiers and riders for their NZSIA or SBINZ Level 1 exams, while also offering the opportunity to step into a seasonal instructor role at Coronet Peak or The Remarkables. 

Led by world-class NZSIA and SBINZ trainers and examiners, the programme combines elite on-snow coaching with focused indoor workshops - building the technical skill, confidence and professionalism to teach and inspire guests on the mountain.

• 12 days of performance-focused, work-ready training 
• Expert coaching by our instructor trainers - the best of the best in New Zealand - at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables 
• Daily schedule: 9:00am – 3:30pm 
• Interview opportunity on Day 10 
  • Note: All applicants wishing to be considered for employment on completion of the programme please apply here after booking into the programme. 
• 3 Peak Season Pass included if enrolled by 31 May 2026 
  • If in the unexpected event you are not selected for employment, you may still retain the pass and continue onto the exam post-holidays. 

Who It’s For 

• Confident on red and black terrain 
• Must hold a valid working holiday visa (proof required prior to programme start) 

This is one of the few direct-entry pathways into an instructor role with NZSki and a stepping stone to global opportunities.
