Whakatipu High School Instructor Training

6-Day Programme | Whakatipu High School students 

Exclusively for Whakatipu High School students, this intensive 6-day training programme is your launchpad into the world of Snowsports instruction. 

Get on-snow coaching, build professional skills, and prepare to join our Snowsports team during the July school holidays. Afterward, you’ll have the option to sit the NZSIA or SBINZ Level 1 Instructor Exams (exam fees not included). 

Programme Highlights 

• Performance Coaching: Refine your skiing or riding, and learn how to deliver great guest experiences on the mountain. 
• Professional Work Opportunity: Show commitment, reliability, the right attitude and you’ll be invited to interview for a paid, full-time role during the July school holidays. 
• Pathway to Certification: After your holiday work period, continue on to the Level 1 Instructor Exam across 3 weekends in Term 3 with valuable real-world teaching experience under your belt. 

Training Dates: (Mandatory attendance all 3 weekends required) 

• 13–14 June 
• 20–21 June 
• 27–28 June 

Time: 9:00am – 3:30pm daily

Eligibility: 

• Confident on red and black terrain at Queenstown ski fields 
• Must have a 3 Peak Local Secondary School Season Pass 
• Must provide own gear 
• NZSIA/SBINZ exam fees not included
